Your Ferndale moving crew

Ferndale, from the river bends to the I-5 exits

Ferndale sits right on the Nooksack River where I-5 exits 262 and 263 drop you into town, and that mix of quick highway access and tucked-away neighborhoods is exactly why local know-how matters on move day. Neon Giant runs Ferndale regularly from our Skagit base, so our crews already know the routes, the neighborhoods, and the access quirks before we ever pull up.

We move the newer areas around Mountain View and Vista Drive, the riverfront homes near Pioneer Park and the Centennial Riverwalk, and the canal houses at Sandy Point Shores, where narrow lanes mean we shuttle with a smaller truck. Head west toward Lake Terrell, Slater Road, and the Lummi area and you are into acreage, long gravel driveways, barns, and outbuildings.

A lot of our Ferndale work is families upsizing into new construction, Cherry Point refinery workers relocating on shift-friendly schedules, and folks making the ten-minute hop to or from Bellingham. Winter brings the cold Fraser outflow winds and the odd ice day down the Nooksack valley, so we pad, wrap, and protect floors and doorways no matter the season.

Why people move here

Why Ferndale?

One of Whatcom County’s fastest-growing towns, and not by accident. Here is what pulls people in.

More house for your moneyMedian home prices run well below Bellingham, often $150K or more, so buyers priced out of Bellingham land here instead.
13 minutes to BellinghamAbout 9 miles up I-5. Close enough to commute, far enough to breathe.
Cherry Point paychecksBP Cherry Point and the Phillips 66 refinery anchor high-paying trades jobs minutes from town.
Room to spread outDowntown blocks, Lake Terrell acreage, or Sandy Point waterfront, all without Bellingham price tags.
Growing fastUp about 18% since 2020, now the second-largest city in Whatcom County.
One-town school prideA single district and one high school give families a tight-knit, all-in-it-together feel.
Schools & community

Home of the Golden Eagles

Ferndale School DistrictFerndale High runs as the Golden Eagles in navy and gold, backed by Vista and Horizon middle schools and six elementaries. Families relocating from bigger metros tell us the single-community feel is a big part of the draw.
Green space around every cornerHovander Homestead’s 350-acre riverfront farm park, Tennant Lake’s fragrance garden and wildlife boardwalk, Pioneer Park’s historic cedar cabins, and Lake Terrell for fishing and birding.

Common questions

Moving in Ferndale, FAQ

Do you move homes out at Sandy Point Shores?

Yes. The canal-front lanes are tight, so we will often bring a smaller shuttle truck and plan the carry ahead of time. Tell us the address when you book and we will scope access first.

Can you handle a rural move off Slater Road, Lake Terrell, or near the Lummi Reservation?

Absolutely. Acreage, long gravel driveways, barns, and outbuildings are routine. We bring the right truck and dollies for the ground conditions.

We are only moving from Ferndale to Bellingham, is that worth booking a crew?

Definitely. It is a short, common run for us and one of the most affordable moves we do, same care, quick turnaround.

Do you work around Cherry Point and refinery shift schedules?

We do. Early starts, weekends, and odd days are no problem, just tell us your window and we will build the crew around it.

Can you also haul away junk when we move?

Yes. We will clear the garage, old furniture, or yard debris the same day as your move, moving and junk removal in one stop.

Do you move during winter when the Fraser outflow winds and ice hit?

Year-round. We pad, wrap, and protect for the weather and keep an eye on the rural roads on icy days so your move stays on schedule.
